Every rupee, debited somewhere and credited somewhere else.
arthik is a self-hosted personal finance app with the everyday feel of a phone money tracker and the rigour of double-entry bookkeeping. It installs as an app on your phone, works offline, and keeps your data as plain, readable files you own.
The demo is read-only and full of made-up data; its user name and password are shown on the sign-in screen.
π¦ Accounts
Bank, cash, wallet, investments, deposits, property, credit cards and loans β balances to the paisa, cleared vs projected, credit-card limits, statements and due dates, and reconciliation.
ποΈ Categories
Two-level income and expense categories with totals for any week, month, quarter, half-year, year or custom range. A βboth waysβ kind covers things like market gains and losses.
π§Ύ Transactions
Expense, income, transfer and split entries, with a calculator amount field, remembered items, labels, notes and cleared/reconciled status. Past dates fix history; future dates post themselves on the day.
β° Scheduled
Recurring bills, salary, SIPs and EMIs β daily to yearly or every N days/weeks/months β posted automatically, with skip, pause, end date or count, and month-end dates that never drift.
π― Budgets
Weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly budgets per category, scaled to the period you view and reset each period, with progress against the calendar.
π Reports
Cash flow, spending and income by category with drill-down, category trends, net worth over time, balance sheet, account flow, labels and a calendar view. Every chart has a table.
π Search & export
Search titles, notes and amounts, filter by anything, act on many transactions at once, and export exactly what you filtered as CSV β which imports straight back.
π± Offline PWA
Install it on your phone. Add transactions with no signal β they sync when you are back online. Comfortable on a laptop too.
π Plain files
Data lives in YAML .md files next to your notes. Edit them in any app; arthik notices and re-syncs every balance and total within seconds.
What it stores
A grocery run of βΉ540 paid by UPI is one balanced transaction: the wallet is credited, the category is debited.
